1020 is a high quality carbon structural steel, with slightly higher strength than 1015 steel, good toughness, plasticity and weldability, little quenching and no temper brittleness. Cold deformation plasticity is high, generally for bending, calendering, bending and hammer arch processing, arc welding and contact welding welding performance is good, gas welding thickness is small, strict shape requirements or complex shape on the parts prone to crack. Machinability cold drawing or normalizing state is better than annealing state, often used to manufacture mechanical parts with small force and high toughness requirements.
